Whenever I'm facing a situation that seems like just too much to take on, I set the inner intention: "I have a faith in Source Energy that is bigger than me and has the power to make my day and pave my way!" Such faith allows me to let go of all that entrepreneurial fear and anxiety and to tap into inspired ideas and action. This is my Winter Holiday wish for you ... to be able to release all the "stuff" that's got you bogged down and feel the weight of having to "make it all happen on your own" just slip away. Well, the year end holiday festivities have definitely kicked off! I'm so excited to see the New York City Ballet perform the Nutcracker this weekend at Lincoln Center ... and then next weekend the Winter Solstice Concert at the Cathedral of Saint John the Divine ... and tons of yummy stuff in between! Here's a photo of me and my beautiful husband, Stephen, last night at our first holiday party of the Season. I celebrated a wonderful Thanks-Giving Holiday with my husband, Stephen; parents, Dennis and Sherry; Aunt Sue and Step-brother, Josh ... my husband and I surprised everyone with a gratitude gift of a beach house for a week next summer in South Carolina! They were all just a wee bit surprised, to say the least :) Hope you have started celebrating an amazing season of giving and gratitude, too!

This has been quite the week. Quite a power combination, I have to say. I'm aligned for '09! And excited to share it ALL with YOU!

This past weekend I spent some wonderful time with my family in Upstate New York. It was a great time of good talks, yummy food and wine, blistery Fall walks with amazing Fall colors ... and you would of thought I take a photo, huh? I guess I was so caught up in it all, but here's a nice little self portrait on the train ride back home to New York City :) There was an awesome crescent moon that followed me the whole way - did you see it this week? I hope you, too, are enjoying good times with loved ones and just soaking up everything that is this amazing, incredible life.

Since I've been traveling so much this year I took some time this past week to just BE - in my office, my home, my city, with my friends, my husband, myself ... feels good (especially since I'll be traveling again pretty soon). I've found that really investing in beautifying my environment makes such a difference. It can even be something as simple as fresh flowers. I know I so appreciate the flowers my personal assistant, Sergia, brings me every week. And this week she brought me a pumpkin, too! Boo! And have a Happy Halloween!

Fall has really found it's way to NYC! I love it.

The air feels clean and crisp! This always has me ready for letting go of whatever hasn't been working for me lately and prepping to create space for something NEW! Exciting. It also has me dragging out sweaters and socks which when living in a Manhattan apartment requires a bunch of moving things in and out of storage. EVERYTHING is done more compactly in this city - as you can see by the teeny-tiny pumpkin I carved here :)

People ask me all the time if it's really kooky living in the heart of Greenwich Village in Manhattan and I usually, say, "Naw! We're just like most folks." And then every once in awhile I'll see something that reminds me, "Um, yeah, things ARE a bit different here!" Like these people I saw on my office block the other day ... you could LITERALLY step up and hear sweet nothings :) Stuff like this is a great reminder ... if you ever find yourself thinking that something isn't possible ... think again!

Towers of Light Memorial - September 11

Wow well it's September 11th - It's actually been quite healing taking time to just mark what a different place I am in from just 7 short years ago. I spent yesterday honoring 2001 and also claiming the beauty of NOW (I spent the afternoon at a photo shoot - I'll share those pics with you soon!) And noticed that I've actually made peace with the Towers of Light Memorial that hovers over my apartment (I used to find this haunting). Here's a photo so you can see what I mean.

Good Happening Gatherings

I spent this past weekend with of two my dear friends, Leslie and Rosemarie. We taught together “back in the day”, but have managed to get together once a month – every month! – since I left traditional teaching for what we call, “Good Happening Gatherings.”
Our lives have all gone in many different directions, but we still come back together. And they are two of my biggest supporters. And, sadly, I’ve learned that supporters can be hard to come by when you venture off into the self-employed thing (lots of folks just don’t get it) And even if these two friends don’t understand everything I do all of the time, they always celebrate my success – and vice versa. A very cool thing, I have to say!

Well, my time at David Neagle's "Experience the Reality of Success" event was both mind and heart blowing, for sure. As part of the event I attracted an awesome group of folks as my manifesting teammates. Here we all are right before we collectively manifested $9,000 (and, no it wasn't by gambling!) My husband Stephen and I got in some great mountain hikes during our time away in Upstate New York recently. Being in the mountains always brings in an energy I can't get anywhere else and also usually shows me a thing or two about next steps for myself (even when I don't want to see it.) Christmas Time!

Christmas is really one of my favorite times of the year. I think it's because I have such wonderful memories of my mother and all she would do to make Christmas special.

I also love celebrating the return of the light, re-birth and just the wonder that comes with a white Christmas - which we had this year!

Honeymoon In St. Lucia

Honeymooning in St. Lucia was incredible.

Funny though ... Before we left our wedding weekend my good friends, Alexandra and Shira, made a point of reminding me to tell EVERYONE that we were on our honeymoon (for some recognition and maybe special treatment). Well, that kind of stuff tends to be hard for me to do, but I put my foot forward, took a risk and started telling people beginning with the check-in at the airline.

Turns out that 99.9% of everyone else traveling to St. Lucia is also on their honeymoon! So funny. We had a great time chatting it up with, literally, all of the other honeymooners staying at our resort! It was actually pretty cool talking to all these other people that had just gotten married, too - most of them on the same day!

I truly felt the transition as we were witnessed expressing the recognition that we have been not only given as gifts to each other, but to the world as well. I went from standing on my own, to traveling side by side. I am so blessed.

A Day With M.S. Caregivers

I had the wonderful opportunity to work with the New York M.S. Foundation on Sunday May 7, 2006 to honor the incredible people that serve as caregivers to loved ones and clients with M.S.

The event was held at the Roosevelt Hotel in Midtown Manhattan and included an inspirational speech by Rain Pryor, daughter of the late Richard Pryor, a wonderful lunch and then the choice of four breakout sessions: drumming, Reiki, Relaxation Breathing and, my workshop, "How To Have More Energy In Your Day".

I thoroughly enjoyed teaching this workshop! We had such a fantastic group and covered topics from how to create Sacred Morning Time, take a 5 Second Focus and Energy Snacks for fuel throughout the day.

Below is a picture of myself with Kate Mostkoff, Program Director and Case Management Services for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, NYC Chapter. She was one of many who pulled together such a heart-felt event. Bravo!

Hotsy-Totsy Sauce

My family grew up with the MUPPETS and my dad and I still love everything from Sesame Street to The Muppet Show. A few weeks ago my fiance' and I stumbled across a clip of my favorite chef on the Web -- not only the song but the original VIDEO from the Muppets skit!

NYC Snowstorm '06

New York City is magical when it snows! First of all, the city get SO quiet. It is wonderful. Second, it is even double when it snows on a weekend - which it did!

We went to Central Park - the cities very own backyard and play ground to all. Or, as I heard someone else say, "A ton of miniature Olympic Villages"! Well, we do have a bit of nature, too. Here is a cardinal to prove it.

This was AMAZING. The fountain stairs near the boat pond had been turned into sledding hills! Ramps and all!!

You can't really see, but that is my sweetie, Stephen, who just took a ride.

That's the two of us all bundled up. A nice British New Yorker asked us if we wanted our picture taken. Everyone was so friendly in the snow : )

Here is a picture of me in front of a car on one of the streets in my neighborhood of Greenwich Village. You can see that this person isn't really going anywhere real soon!

It was so refreshing to have the snow. I was getting a bit concerned that we went from December to Spring. Of course, it is now all NYC brown slush, but the magic was worth it.

Total Wellness Feast

The Total Wellness Feast held on Saturday January 28th at HealthyBodyNYC from the founder of Myrna's List was a huge success. It was an energy filled day -for sure! There were excellent presentations on Modern Feng Shui, Colon Care, Energetic Medicine, and, myself, talking about what it takes to make a successful change ... really so informative and great people participated. A big shout-out to all who came out for the day! Here are a few photos from the day ..

I hope everyone had wonderful holidays!

Myself? I feel really fortunate and blessed to have had such a peaceful, enjoyable time with my family.

This is a picture of my parent's Christmas tree. This is really special to me because for the last 3 years I have not had my own Christmas tree - my cozy, NYC apartment can't quite hold 2 people, a cat and a tree on top of it.

Here I am on Christmas morn, unshowered, glasses and holding my "Pig Jacks" that I just opened. Yup, it is what it sounds like. Instead of picking up 'jacks" you pick up "pigs". I loved it. Hard to play though and I did end up leaving them at my folk's house. Sorry about that.

I don't know very much about astrology or tarot cards, but at the Winter Solstice Celebration I attended this past Monday night I picked a tarot card for the New Year ... SOURCE.

The basic explanation for this card is:

"This symbol reminds us that there is a vast resevoir of energy available to us. And we tap into it not by planning and thinking, but by being grounded, centered and silent enough to be in contact with the source."

Sounds good to me! I don't think I could have hired a PR person to describe the essence of my work any better.

It is going to be a great year.

If you could pick your "ideal card" what would it say?

Winter Solstice

A lot of you may not know this, but this is a really powerful time of year ... we are coming upon the Winter Solstice. This year it falls on Wednesday December 21st. This is the shortest day of the year.

So many of us blow right by it because we have so much festivity going on, but really this is the perfect time to do what I call ... incubate. Our culture has become so instant gratification oriented that we BELIEVE we have to be busy all of the time, working all of the time or buying all of the time ...

BUT if we section off some time to be quiet, go inside and listen to what comes up we have 120% more focus to be able to acheive and manifest our desires for the coming year. When we take the time to be silent and hear what our heart is telling us then we more easily stay away from what we "should" do, what we are "resigned" to do and feeling frustrated because we don't necessarily feel so connected to our choices... so our intentions don't necessarily come around so easily.

Now, the reason that this time of year is so perfect for this is because our bodies are naturally atuned to the movement of the light. With less light, comes less energy - naturally, but we don't need to feel like we aren't measuring up instead we use our energy differently and still get results... just different results. Most likely (if you take the time to incubate) you will get inklings of ideas for change that will direct you to take steps in the future (maybe 2 months or more down the line).

So take the time to sit, breathe and to ASK... ask and you shall receive ... ask your heart, your gut, your intuition, the universe ,,, and be willing to hear the answer and act on it.

Two ways that I have chosen to celebrate the Winter Solstice this year is to attend Paul Winter's Winter Solstice Concert at the Cathedral of Saint John the Divine. This is an amazing concert of world music that really allows me to go to a wonderful meditative place and there is an amazing musical metaphor of the darkest night of the year (including a chance to howl at the moon!) and tonight I will gather with a group of close women friends. We gather on all of the seasonal markings to share the cycle of the seasons and our lives. It is an amazing energy force that keeps me grounded, supported and moving forward in my life.

This is my first official personal blog entry and I am very excited! I am usually writing a lot for my business www.individual-health.net, but this BLOG is going to be for fun ... and ... because lots of times when people are looking to make a change with their energy and their life they gather all of the information, but still nothing happens.

This BLOG is going to be like the "behind the scenes" or "backstage", if you will, to making change happen in your life. I will continuously post Motivational Musings and sometime pictures and give-a-ways.
